SGSC Chakung recently organized a workshop on the NAAC Binary Accreditation System, offering participants valuable insights into updated accreditation standards. The event, segmented into Inaugural and Technical Sessions I & II, focused on preparing institutions for the transition to NAAC’s new binary accreditation model.
Inaugural Session Highlights
The workshop commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Ravi Kr. Tamang, IQAC Coordinator, followed by the arrival of the Chief Guest, Dr. Dharmadhikari N.S., a notable educationist and NAAC & UGC committee member. The session featured:
- Lamp Lighting Ceremony and the college anthem by the choir,
- Workshop objectives presented by Principal Dr. Sudhan Pradhan,
- Keynote Address by Dr. Dharmadhikari on the binary system.
Technical Sessions Summary
Led by Dr. Dharmadhikari, the technical sessions covered crucial aspects of the binary accreditation system.
- Session I: Understanding the NAAC Binary System
- Shift from graded to binary (Accredited/Not Accredited) format.
- Emphasis on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and cross-institution collaborations.
- Session II: Decoding Ten Criteria for Development
- Key topics included Technology Integration, Community Engagement, Collaborative Learning, SMART Goals, and IQAC effectiveness.
- Session III: SSR Preparation for Accreditation
- Focus on data-driven evidence to align with the binary criteria.
- Interactive Q&A session for participant-specific queries.
Addressing Challenges & Action Plan
The workshop highlighted solutions for institutions facing resource limitations. A proposed action plan included:
- Conducting IKS-focused workshops and projects,
- Encouraging technology and collaborative learning,
- Promoting experiential learning through practical sessions.
Closing & Appreciation
The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution and a closing note by Principal Dr. Sudhan Pradhan, reaffirming SGSC Chakung’s commitment to achieving NAAC accreditation. Special acknowledgments were extended to Dr. Dharmadhikari for his expertise, Mrs. Puja Karki for her role as Master of Ceremonies, and the college choir for their spirited performance.
This workshop exemplified SGSC’s dedication to quality education and continuous improvement in alignment with national standards.
